Job description

As American Seafood Partners continues to grow, we have an opportunity to create a more connected, data-driven enterprise. We are seeking a Director of Business Intelligence to lead that effort and establish the information infrastructure that will help ASP make better, faster, and more informed decisions. The Director owns ASP’s enterprise management-information system, including metrics management, data continuity, decision insight, KPI governance, and reporting across all businesses and functions. This leader will create a reliable enterprise source of truth, establish standardized KPIs, develop Power BI and ERP reporting solutions, and translate operational and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for the CEO, senior leadership team, and Board. This is a hands-on enterprise leadership role that combines strategic thinking with execution. The Director will establish data-governance standards, create accountability for accurate and timely information, and work across functions and businesses to bring consistency and clarity to how ASP measures performance. The role will also play an important part in acquisition diligence and post-acquisition integration, helping ASP quickly understand new businesses and connect them to a common management-information framework. As ASP continues to grow, the Director will have the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing Business Intelligence team, shaping the capabilities, tools, and culture needed to support an increasingly sophisticated enterprise. This is a unique opportunity for a data and business intelligence leader who wants to do more than build dashboards-to build the infrastructure for better leadership, accountability, and growth across an entire organization. Principal Duties: Enterprise Metrics, KPIs & Decision Support

  • Design and maintain an enterprise dashboard covering sales, margin, operations, production, inventory, procurement, quality, finance, and workforce performance.
  • Define and standardize KPI formulas, source systems, owners, reporting frequency, targets, thresholds, and escalation rules; maintain a controlled KPI dictionary and reporting calendar.
  • Establish daily operating dashboards, weekly KPI reviews, monthly business reviews, and executive and board reporting.
  • Translate data into concise implications, root causes, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions; challenge inaccurate data or unsupported assumptions constructively.

Data Governance, Quality & Continuity

  • Own master-data standards, data ownership, reporting permissions, and controls over how critical information is entered, changed, approved, and used.
  • Implement data-quality monitoring, reconciliations, issue logs, corrective actions, and escalation of unresolved data problems.
  • Create a culture of correct data at the source by making accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and ownership visible to business leaders.
  • Document data definitions, lineage, business rules, recurring reports, dependencies, and continuity procedures to reduce spreadsheet, workaround, and key-person risk.

Systems, Reporting & Technical Execution

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, calculations, visualizations, and refresh processes.
  • Extract, clean, reconcile, and organize ERP data; improve ERP reporting structures and the usability of operational and financial information.
  • Use advanced Excel for controlled modeling, reconciliation, and analysis; partner with IT, ERP providers, consultants, and vendors to automate repeatable work and resolve data issues.
  • Maintain documentation for datasets, models, calculations, access rights, refresh schedules, and reporting procedures.

Acquisitions, Training & Team Development

  • Participate in pre-acquisition diligence by assessing systems, ERP structure, data quality, reporting capability, KPI maturity, and integration risk.
  • Lead post-close onboarding of acquired companies into ASP’s KPI, data-governance, reporting, and dashboard environment using a repeatable integration playbook.
  • Train employees and leaders on ERP, Power BI, Excel-based tools, KPI definitions, reporting procedures, and data-entry expectations.
  • Define future BI staffing needs and, as approved, recruit, develop, and lead a business intelligence team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in food manufacturing with a practical understanding of plant, supply-chain, commercial, and financial operations.
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing dashboards, metrics, and KPI systems.
  • Hands-on Power BI, ERP reporting, data-modeling, and advanced Excel capability.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, master data, reporting controls, access permissions, and data-quality practices.
  • Ability to convert complex data into practical business recommendations and communicate clearly with operating employees, executives, and board audiences.
  • Acquisition diligence, systems integration, SQL, database-query, or data-integration experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid or remote structure and travel approximately 10-20%.
