Job description

  • Design, develop and maintain the C++ code base that delivers a world-class update experience.
  • Collaboration within the team and across product groups to deliver end-to-end experiences.
  • Make strong investments in test assets to provide an automated testing experience.
  • Analyze data to inform quality and future investments., * With guidance, learns to create and implement code for a product, service, or feature reusing code as applicable.
  • Assists and learns about breaking down work items into tasks and provides estimation.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and recommends actions to restore system/product/service by following the playbook.
  • Reviews current developments and proactively seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience., * 3+ years of industry programming, software engineering, and/or software development experience.
  • BS/BA in computer science, or equivalent in related technical experience.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in object-oriented languages (C++ required).
  • Experience with API Design.
  • Sound coding, debugging, design, implementation and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for improving software quality, performance, and reliability through engineering excellence.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, agile development environment and can multitask fluidly.
  • Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature.
  • Supports identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product feature with oversight.
