Software Test Engineer 1

Siemens Industry, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Software/Firmware Test Engineer to join our team in Johnson City, TN. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with an international engineering team to develop, test, and release advanced industrial automation products., * Perform functional testing on industrial automation products.

• Develop and execute test cases based on software requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze requirements and evaluate testability.
• Identify potential technical issues, software defects, and design improvements.
• Document test results and communicate findings clearly.
• Work closely with developers, QA teams, technical writers, project managers, and support personnel.
• Support product development and release activities through effective testing practices.

• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and practices.
• Understanding of firmware testing within complex embedded runtime environments.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with motion control systems and industrial I/O devices.
• Experience working with embedded hardware and software environments.
• Knowledge of automation technologies and control systems.
