Job description

We are seeking a motivated Interoperability Support Specialist to join our team supporting the deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of medical device connectivity solutions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between medical devices, hospital networks, and clinical information systems, ensuring reliable data flow in fast-paced healthcare environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a Computer Science graduate to build hands-on expertise in healthcare IT, networking, scripting, and medical device interoperability while working with modern hospital infrastructure., * Deploy, configure, and support software solutions that connect medical devices to clinical systems, including on-site and remote installations.

  • Assess customer environments and recommend hardware, network, or configuration changes to support new deployments.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, data flow, and integration issues across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Write and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Unix shell) to automate deployment, diagnostics, and support tasks.
  • Perform basic database queries and maintenance tasks in PostgreSQL to support application troubleshooting.
  • Configure network settings on medical devices (e.g., patient monitors) and verify communication with gateways and servers.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and issue resolutions clearly for internal teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, hospital IT departments, and internal engineering teams with professionalism and strong communication.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed (up to 20% of the time).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (0-2 years of experience preferred.).
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Experience with Windows PowerShell and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
  • Some hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (queries, backups, basic administration).
  • Familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of core IT and networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, gateways, ports, client/server architecture).
  • Experience deploying software and the ability to evaluate hardware requirements for new deployments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, continuous-learning environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time., * Experience with medical device interoperability (e.g., patient monitors, HL7, device gateways, hospital networks).
  • Exposure to healthcare IT environments or standards such as HL7 or DICOM.
  • Familiarity with network security concepts such as IPsec and firewall configuration.
