Job description
The IT Security Analyst will serve as an integral member of the IT team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Configure, edit and create system rules in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
- Interpret logs, alarms and incidents with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
- Coordinate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and investigate security incidents. Direct and coordinate responses with team members and other departments.
- Conduct and analyze security vulnerability scans of devices and applications to identify weaknesses and identify and deploy remediation processes.
- Review, research, recommend and deploy updates and patches of operating systems and applications with patch management systems.
- Configure rules, deploy policies and review incidents within the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and coordinate changes with managed services providers.
- Manage cyber security employee awareness program and training systems.
- Configure, test, deploy and monitor usage templates for web and DNS filtering systems.
- Design, deploy and enhance application and security posture with Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
- Conduct security reviews of proposed upgrades and new implementations of IT systems and applications.
- Produce security system related reports for management.
- Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrates active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
- 0-2 years of cybersecurity or IT experience. Internships, co-op programs, military experience, and industry certifications such as Security+ may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Firewalls or Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) is required
- Windows server administration experience is preferred
- Following certifications are preferred:
- CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst CYSA+
- Cisco CCNA or Cyber Ops Associate
The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.
