Job description

COLSA is seeking a highly skilled Cyber AI Specialist with deep expertise in artificial intelligence and hands-on experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). The ideal candidate will support advanced technology development, ensure cybersecurity compliance, and help integrate AI capabilities into mission-aligned systems. *Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions)

  • Design, develop, and evaluate AI/ML models for defense-related applications.
  • Support RMF activities across all phases, including documentation, control implementation, security assessments, and continuous monitoring.
  • Provide technical guidance on AI model lifecycle management, model evaluation, data governance, and ethical AI considerations.
  • Support system integration, testing, and accreditation efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cyber security, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology, information security, cyber security, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data-driven system design.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating agentic AI
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 security controls and DoW cybersecurity policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to start Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in computer science, information technology, cyber security, engineering, or related field
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Experience deploying AI/ML models within secure environments.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, model explainability techniques, or high-assurance system design.
  • Prior experience supporting Navy programs, laboratories, or warfare centers., + Be able to multi-task and work within deadlines
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Be a team player contributing ideas and solving problems
