- Assist with the administration, maintenance, and organization of SQL databases.
- Write, test, and modify SQL queries to support application development, reporting, and data analysis.
- Assist with database troubleshooting, data validation, and performance optimization.
- Support software developers with database-related development and testing activities.
- Assist with data imports, exports, updates, and quality-control activities.
- Help identify and resolve data inconsistencies or database issues.
- Support development and maintenance of database documentation, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Assist with testing database changes and software functionality in development and test environments.
- Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and code or database reviews as appropriate.
- Support data analysis and reporting using SQL and other analytical tools.
- Assist with cloud-based database or infrastructure activities as opportunities arise.
- Research database technologies and recommend improvements to existing processes and tools.
Requirements
Plateau GRP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Junior DBA / Database Analyst to support our software development and data management efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a college or graduate student to gain hands-on experience working with SQL databases, data management, application support, and software development teams in a real-world environment.
The ideal candidate will have a foundation in SQL and database management, strong analytical skills, and an interest in developing their technical skills in database administration and software applications., * Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Coursework or hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Basic understanding of database concepts, including tables, relationships, queries, and data integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and investigate data discrepancies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or another relational database platform.
- Familiarity with database administration or database development.
- Experience with Python or another programming language.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub or other version-control systems.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or AWS.
- Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with C#/.NET, Java, JavaScript, or other software development technologies.
- Experience working with data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence projects.
Benefits & conditions
The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, with the final offer determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, education, skills, certifications, and overall qualifications.
