Job description
The Power BI Reporting Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise business intelligence and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role transforms business requirements into interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making across MPA and affiliated organizations.
The engineer will work closely with business users, data engineers, database administrators, and IT teams to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives., * Report & Dashboard Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Create interactive visualizations, scorecards, and executive dashboards.
- Develop reusable report templates and visualization standards.
- Optimize report performance and user experience.
- Support enterprise reporting initiatives across departments.
- Data Modeling & Analytics
- Design and maintain Power BI semantic models.
- Develop star schema and dimensional models for reporting.
- Create DAX measures, calculations, KPIs, and business logic.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access controls.
- Support self-service BI and governed analytics solutions.
- Business Requirements & User Support
- Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Convert business processes and KPIs into reporting solutions.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provide end-user training and documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between business teams and technical teams.
- Reporting Governance & Standards
- Establish reporting standards and dashboard design guidelines.
- Ensure consistency of KPIs and business definitions.
- Maintain metadata and report inventory documentation.
- Support enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Reduce duplication of reports and datasets.
- Monitoring & Support
- Monitor report usage, adoption, and performance.
- Troubleshoot report failures and refresh issues.
- Resolve production incidents and root causes.
- Support business users and executive stakeholders.
- Maintain SLA and operational support standards.
Work Schedule and Travel Requirements
- Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Flexible Schedule at the discretion and approval of Manager
- No Travel Required
Requirements
- 4 - 7 years of Business Intelligence or Reporting experience, Required
- 3 - 5 years of Power BI development experience, Required
- Strong experience with DAX and data modeling.
- Experience building executive and operational dashboards.
- Experience working with Azure-based data platforms.
- Experience migrating reports from legacy reporting tools to Power BI.
- Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field, Required
