Job description
We are seeking an expert-level FPGA / Hardware Verification Engineer with strong experience in SystemVerilog, UVM, FPGA verification, and DO-254 for an aerospace engineering team in Melbourne, FL.
The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in hardware/FPGA verification, including lab testing and/or design verification, and a strong understanding of DO-254 processes and certification documentation.
The engineer will also work closely with offshore/remote engineering teams, including the India GETC-I site, providing technical direction and DO-254 process guidance to verification engineers and emerging engineers., Key ResponsibilitiesFPGA & Hardware Verification
- Develop and execute comprehensive verification strategies for FPGA/hardware designs.
- Create and maintain verification environments using SystemVerilog and/or UVM.
- Develop testbenches, test cases, functional coverage, assertions, and constrained-random verification methodologies.
- Perform FPGA verification through simulation, hardware testing, lab testing, and design verification testing.
- Analyze failures, troubleshoot hardware/RTL issues, and work with design engineers to resolve defects.
DO-254 Certification
- Develop and maintain DO-254-compliant verification and certification artifacts.
- Support requirements capture, requirements decomposition, verification planning, traceability, and compliance activities.
- Provide technical guidance on DO-254 processes, verification methods, documentation, and certification evidence.
- Support high-assurance / DAL-A hardware development and certification activities.
- Participate in certification reviews and, when required, support FAA SOI audits.
FPGA Development & Analysis
- Work with VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog RTL and associated simulation environments.
- Support synthesis, placement and routing, timing analysis, and FPGA implementation activities.
- Perform static timing, lint, and CDC analysis.
- Support FPGA board bring-up, integration, debugging, and laboratory testing.
- Collaborate with FPGA designers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, and verification teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Technical Leadership & Offshore Coordination
- Coordinate with offshore/remote engineering teams, including the India GETC-I site.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior and emerging verification engineers.
- Establish and communicate verification best practices.
- Provide guidance on DO-254 processes, required documentation, verification evidence, and compliance expectations.
- Review technical deliverables and ensure verification activities align with project and certification requirements.
Requirements
- 8-20 years of relevant FPGA, ASIC, hardware verification, or electrical engineering experience.
- Expert-level experience in FPGA / hardware verification.
- Strong hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and/or UVM.
- Strong experience with FPGA verification through lab testing and/or hardware FPGA design verification testing.
- Must have hands-on DO-254 experience.
- Strong understanding of hardware verification methodologies, requirements, traceability, and certification processes.
- Experience working with aerospace/avionics hardware is highly preferred.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with offshore/remote engineering teams.
- Ability to provide DO-254 process guidance, documentation guidance, and technical mentorship to verification teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or another relevant STEM discipline., * Experience designing or verifying Xilinx FPGA products.
- Experience with VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
- Experience developing UVM-based constrained-random verification environments.
- Experience with static timing analysis, linting, and Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) analysis.
- Experience with FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and hardware bring-up.
- Experience with Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) development and certification.
- Experience supporting DAL-A / high-assurance DO-254 programs.

The strongest candidates will be senior-level FPGA/hardware verification engineers who combine deep technical verification expertise with practical DO-254 aerospace certification experience.
Candidates with strong SystemVerilog/UVM backgrounds are ideal. However, candidates with substantial FPGA lab testing and/or hardware design verification testing experience may also be considered if they have strong DO-254 experience.
Xilinx FPGA experience is a major plus.
Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Melbourne, FL five days per week and collaborating with both local and offshore engineering teams.
