Job description
Our Houston office is looking for a full-time Systems Administrator to manage on-premise infrastructure, cloud environments, and core network availability. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Director, you will take ownership of local server maintenance, Active Directory administration, virtualized hosting environments, and hardware life-cycle management., * Maintain and support physical servers, VMware ESXi hypervisors, and storage area networks (SAN) across local facilities.
- Manage Windows Server instances, Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP infrastructure.
- Administer Microsoft 365 tenant configurations, including Exchange Online, Teams, Entra ID, and endpoint security policies.
- Monitor network performance, configuring switches, firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and wireless access points to prevent service downtime.
- Execute automated backup protocols, verify daily recovery points, and participate in periodic disaster recovery testing.
- Provision, deploy, and patch endpoint hardware, server OS builds, and enterprise application suites according to security baselines.
- Respond to escalated tier-2/3 technical service requests and participate in an operational on-call rotation for critical outage events.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in system administration, network support, or infrastructure operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), VMware vSphere/ESXi, and Active Directory environments.
- Practical knowledge of enterprise cloud services, specifically Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.
- Solid understanding of core networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLAN tagging, routing protocols, and firewall rules.
- Experience configuring system backup solutions (such as Veeam, Datto, or Azure Backup) and endpoint patching platforms.
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or VMware VCP certifications are preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
