Job description
Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is looking for a Stock Controller / SAP Administrator to join their Calibration & Maintenance (C&M) team at their Stevenage site.
You’ll play a key role managing critical spares and stock for bespoke test equipment within a highly technical manufacturing environment - supporting SAP processes, tracking stock through Jira, and helping keep essential equipment operational.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing and controlling critical spares, including electronic components, service kits, connector savers, and commercial off-the-shelf items
- Creating and maintaining material masters in SAP, providing system support and documentation for control team activities
- Producing, managing, and tracking calibration and service kits, ensuring accurate stock control
- Establishing and maintaining stock levels with engineering teams, including min/max requirements and replenishment planning
- Organising stock holdings, conducting regular stock checks, and monitoring inventory accuracy
- Raising, ordering, and tracking stock requirements to support operational needs
- Using Jira to monitor, communicate, and track the status of parts, stock, and team activities
- Working closely with engineers and the Control Team Lead to minimise production downtime through effective spares and calibration asset management
Requirements
- Experience managing spare parts, stock control, or inventory within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of SAP (Systems Applications and Products)
- Experience creating and managing material masters and stock levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Experience working with stakeholders across departments
Nice to have
- Knowledge of calibration processes (beneficial but not essential)
