Job description

This is a hands-on development role requiring strong production-level Python expertise combined with experience in Collibra or similar metadata/data governance platforms. You will work across data modelling, APIs, metadata management and production engineering, building robust and reusable solutions within a complex financial services environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on Python development experience
  • Strong production engineering background - building and owning production services, reusable libraries and automation
  • Hands-on experience with Pydantic and FastAPI
  • Experience with Collibra or similar metadata management/data governance tooling
  • Strong understanding of data and metadata modelling, including conceptual, logical and physical models
  • Experience with canonical models, data contracts, source-to-target mappings, schema versioning and data lineage
  • Strong REST API, JSON, YAML and SQL experience
  • Experience processing large datasets with batching, retries, idempotency, caching and performance optimisation
  • Strong testing and engineering practices using Pytest, Git, code reviews and CI/CD
  • Experience with monitoring, deployment and production support
  • Financial services experience would be highly beneficial

We are looking for a genuinely hands-on developer rather than someone whose Python experience is predominantly Scripting, notebooks or data analytics.

You should be comfortable taking ownership from day one, working independently and delivering high-quality, production-ready solutions.

If you feel you have the right experience for this role, please get in touch by sending your CV in Word format to (see below)
