Senior Software Engineer (Java/GCP)

As Senior Software Engineer you will join Deutsche Bank Global Credit Technology team and play a key role in the modernization of a business-critical platform supporting the Fixed Income and Credit business. This is a hands-on engineering position combining software development, cloud transformation, platform architecture, and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced financial services environment., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern software engineering practices.

• Lead the modernization of Legacy systems and support the migration of critical services into a cloud-native GCP environment.
• Build and enhance distributed systems, microservices, and APIs to support business-critical credit trading and operational workflows.
• Partner with Front Office, Quantitative Development, Operations, Finance, and Technology stakeholders to deliver strategic technology solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, technical leadership, and the adoption of best practices across the software development life cycle.
• Contribute to platform architecture, DevOps automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience with advanced Java and Spring Boot development expertise.
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications on GCP, with exposure to Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, concurrency, performance optimization, and scalable application design.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with experience working across globally distributed teams.
