Job description

The Software Developer will be well-versed with Windward Risk Managers, Solara Specialty Insurance Solutions, Florida Peninsula, Edison, and Ovation Insurance websites, portal, web applications, APIs and web technologies. They will also support developing and maintaining test automation, regression systems and code deployments., * Experience C# /.NET, SQL Server, JavaScript, Full-stack development.

  • Hands-on .NET experience on backend and hands-on React or Angular or similar framework on frontend is needed for this role.
  • Experience developing enterprise level applications.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining Web APIs, RESTful APIs, XML, XSL, JSON data structures.
  • Experience with handling production support activities and code deployment.
  • Provide technical support to project team members with assistance from existing technical support.
  • Ability to write new code and understand and debug existing prewritten legacy code.
  • Evaluate existing systems, identify gaps, and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop tools and systems to help build automation, reduce rework and redundancy, build programs to help QA and Production support activities.
  • Handle Azure DevOps and Octopus CI/CD deployments on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Four or more years’ experience in P&C Insurance products in a plus.
  • Experience with writing requirements and developing use cases and test cases.
  • Experience with testing and peer review of test results.
  • Experience with one or more test automation and regression tools.
  • Knowledge of testing types (Functional, Integration, End-to-End, Regression)
  • Experience with SQL databases and basic SQL statements.
  • Experience working in continuous integration and continuous delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Octopus CI/CD is a plus.
  • Agile/Lean methodologies, with Waterfall experience preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills plus experience collaborating across multiple teams/vendors.
  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and apply logic to solve business problems with minimal supervision and a willingness to dig into the details of specific projects to ensure the appropriate approach and best use of company resources.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
