Digital Finance Transformation - Senior Consultant

We are now seeking a Finance Transformation Senior Consultant to play a leading role in delivering high impact transformation initiatives for local and global clients.

Role Overview

EY Mauritius is looking for high-potential professionals to join its Finance Transformation team, supporting clients in reimagining and modernising their Finance function through the use of AI, automation, analytics, data platforms and emerging technologies.

The role is suited for individuals who understand the challenges faced by CFOs and Finance teams, and who are passionate about using technology to improve finance processes, enhance decision-making, reduce manual effort, and create more agile, insight-driven Finance functions.

The successful candidate will work on transformation projects covering areas such as finance process improvement, reporting and analytics, automation, digital finance tools, data management, AI-enabled use cases, performance management, and operating model redesign., As a Senior Consultant, you will be expected to take a leading delivery role across finance transformation engagements. Your responsibilities will include:

• Support the design and delivery of Finance Transformation projects for clients across different industries.
• Analyse current-state finance processes, systems, reports, data flows and pain points.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, controls, reporting quality and decision-making.
• Translate CFO and Finance function challenges into practical digital, automation, analytics and AI-enabled use cases.
• Work with client teams to define business requirements, process improvements, data requirements and solution concepts.
• Develop dashboards, data models, automation workflows, analytical tools, prototypes and proof-of-concepts where required.
• Use tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, Power Automate, UiPath, VBA and GenAI solutions to support project delivery.
• Contribute to project planning, workstream management, stakeholder discussions, documentation and client presentations.
• Support proposal development, diagnostic assessments, business case preparation and transformation roadmaps.
• Guide junior team members and contribute to building internal capability in AI, automation and data-driven finance transformation.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical and analytical capability, including:

• Strong experience with ETL tools, Python, Power BI, SQL and data management tools.
• Good understanding of Finance data structures, reporting requirements and data quality considerations.
• Fundamental understanding of Generative AI tools and their practical applications in business or finance contexts.
• Ability to demonstrate how GenAI is being used, or can be used, in current or previous work to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, reporting or decision-making.
• Exposure to Python / PySpark, AI/ML concepts, advanced analytics and data modelling.
• Experience with automation tools such as VBA, UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate will be a strong advantage.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to convert analysis into clear, professional client-ready outputs.
• Ability to build or support prototypes, analytical models, dashboards or automation solutions to solve business problems.

Awareness of emerging technologies relevant to the Finance function, such as AI, machine learning, automation, blockchain, fintech and cloud-based finance platforms

Professional Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in finance transformation, consulting, advisory, analytics, automation, data, digital transformation or related roles.
• Experience working on business projects where technology, data or automation played a central role.
• Proven track record of delivering finance transformation, reporting, analytics, automation or technology-enabled improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of current CFO challenges, including cost pressure, faster reporting, better forecasting, process efficiency, finance talent constraints, data quality, governance and the need for real-time insights.
• Experience working with Finance functions such as Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, statutory reporting or performance management.
• Ability to work with both Finance and Technology stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage workstreams, coordinate tasks, guide junior team members and deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timelines., * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, STEM, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CFA, CIMA or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Additional certifications in Power BI, data analytics, automation, AI, cloud platforms, project management or finance transformation will be considered positively.
