Job description

The Human Systems Engineering team is seeking a dynamic Human Machine Interaction Engineer to support Lockheed Martin Skunkworks efforts with the design and development of the Multi-Domain Control Station (MDCX) - Mission Management Software.

The candidate will design, develop and integrate operator interfaces with system architectures, including complex systems and system design activities.

Specific activities may include the following:

-Develops systems and system element architecture, design, and software interface definitions.

-Assists with the development and communication of the system architecture requirements for operator interfaces. –Integrates operator interfaces with Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) message sets and architectures.

-Presents HMI design concepts (in the form of figures, drawings, or simulations) to the customer for evaluation. –Conveys customer intent and operational impact to system architects and designers to inform system level design.

-Collaborates with software developers, the customer, and program management to design human-machine interfaces, obtain design decisions, and reconcile customer intent against feasibility, cost, and complexity of various design modifications.

-Ensures conversion of operational mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system.

-Promotes consistent user interface and ensures alignment with customer intent.

-Provides operational subject matter expertise to support technical baseline management, technical reviews, system demonstrations, and Human Systems Integration.

-Documents software design descriptions, drafts user manuals and reviews them for accuracy, and develops and briefs operator academics on controls and HMI designs. —-Maintains knowledge of current and developing HMI-related technologies and designs.

-Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
