Teaching Fellow in Computer Science and Engineering/Engineering: AY 26-27, Inclu

The School of Engineering anticipates hiring Teaching Fellows for lower- and upper-division courses for Academic Year 2026-2027, including Summer Session 2026, in the following disciplines:

Computer Science and Engineering Engineering Fundamentals (courses may include the following: Introduction to Materials, Statics and Dynamics, Circuit Theory, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Strength of Materials, Spatial Analysis, Information Systems, etc.)

Under supervision of a faculty member, the Teaching Fellow will be responsible for leading instruction of a course. Additional duties may include grading, leading discussion sections when appropriate and holding office hours. 1. Advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D.
2. Maintenance of a qualifying grade point average
3. Academically eligible to hold the appointment (as outlined in the Graduate Policies and Procedures Handbook)
4. Must be a registered UC Merced graduate student in full-time residence (registered for 12 units per term appointed; for summer appointment registered in 12 units in the previous term)
5. Must have passed an Oral English Proficiency Examination (if applicable)

Salary range: See Table 18 for the salary range for this position. Salary is based on an annual full-time salary of $83,941. Teaching Fellows will not be appointed for more than 50% time during the Fall & Spring semesters.
