BIT Systems Engineer

We are looking for you to join our team as a BIT Systems Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD and will require 100% on-site work.

What You’ll get to Do: As a lead Built-In-Test (BIT) Systems Engineer in support of the MLSS business Unit you will apply strong systems engineering knowledge and understanding across disciplines and work with the various systems, hardware, and software teams. Verifying that BIT Mode functions and systems operate effectively, ensuring errors are captured, corrected, or compensated for without impacting sensor performance.

Day to Day: Derive BIT requirements Design of the BIT and Fault Isolation/Detection mode(s) Evaluating the effectiveness of modeling and analysis Gaining a deep understanding of Sensors Hardware capabilities Leading a team to develop and integrate software using C++ and Python Define requirements to maintain system performance. Verify embedded implementation of the BIT mode. Produce publication-quality documentation and supporting Factory Test activities Engaging in system integration and test activities, as well as providing field support.

This requisition may be filled as a Principal BIT Systems Engineer or a Senior Principal BIT Systems Engineer. This position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance prior to start.

Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience, master’s degree with 3 years of experience or Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be acceptable. Experience in BIT Systems Engineering A current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance Experience with MATLAB for Data Analysis. Domain experience in sensor simulations for RF sensors. Experience with integration and test of RADAR, SIGINT, or EW systems. Experience in reviewing C/C++ code.
