Job description

Akkodis is seeking a Data Governance Architect to lead enterprise data governance strategy and help transform data into a trusted, accessible, and valuable business asset. This role will drive governance initiatives across commercial and enterprise data domains, ensuring high standards for data quality, metadata management, stewardship, lineage, and compliance.

As the Data Governance Leader you will work across business and technology teams to establish scalable governance frameworks, enhance data literacy, and maximize the value of modern data platforms including Azure Databricks, Collibra, and Power BI., * Define and execute the enterprise data governance roadmap.

  • Establish governance standards, policies, and stewardship practices across business domains.
  • Drive adoption of FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
  • Define ownership and accountability for critical data assets and Systems of Record.
  • Lead metadata and business glossary strategies for key commercial data domains.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor between business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Facilitate governance councils, working groups, and stakeholder forums.
  • Drive alignment across IT, analytics, operations, and business functions.
  • Mentor data stewards and promote data governance best practices throughout the organization.
  • Own and optimize governance capabilities within Collibra and related data intelligence tools.
  • Lead data lineage, metadata management, and catalog initiatives across enterprise platforms.
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure governance requirements are successfully implemented.
  • Drive resolution of data quality issues and establish governance metrics that support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance, governance controls, and proper handling of sensitive and regulated data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Stewardship, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or similar solutions.
  • Strong experience leading cross-functional data governance initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and governance frameworks., * Experience building enterprise data catalogs, business glossaries, and metadata repositories.
  • Knowledge of Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Power BI, Snowflake, Azure Data Services, or SQL Server.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational data models.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, cloud-based data architectures, and modern data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Collibra APIs and governance automation.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM).
  • Programming experience with Python or R.
  • Understanding of data privacy and regulatory requirements, including GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Relevant Collibra certifications strongly preferred.
