Job description
DecisionPoint is seeking an experienced Senior Windows Systems Administrator to serve as a technical SME supporting enterprise Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and IIS environments. The role requires advanced expertise in Windows administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, IIS, authentication, networking, and system troubleshooting. Responsibilities include maintaining mission-critical systems, resolving complex production issues, supporting virtualized environments, and implementing security hardening and vulnerability remediation. Experience with DISA STIGs, DoD RMF requirements, and enterprise Windows security standards is essential., Serve as the technical SME for Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and IIS environments.
- Administer, configure, patch, upgrade, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows Server systems.
- Manage and support Active Directory, including users, groups, OUs, Group Policy, DNS integration, trusts, and domain services.
- Install, configure, secure, tune, and troubleshoot Microsoft IIS web server environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across Windows services, event logs, authentication, permissions, storage, CPU, memory, networking, and application connectivity.
- Apply DISA STIGs and harden Windows systems to meet DoD RMF security requirements.
- Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and enterprise Windows security configurations.
- Perform root-cause analysis for complex production issues and system outages.
- Support virtualized Windows environments across development, test, and production.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, system configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in production support and on-call rotations as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, DevOps Engineering, or a related field., * 10+ years of hands-on Windows Server administration experience.
- Expert-level experience with Microsoft Windows Server in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, authentication, and domain services.
- Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft IIS.
- Advanced Windows troubleshooting skills, including Event Viewer, services, permissions, performance, networking, and application issues.
- Experience with DISA STIG, DoD RMF, Windows security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Strong understanding of NTFS permissions, certificates, SSL/TLS, Windows networking, and enterprise authentication.
