Job description

You will partner closely with Sales, Operations, Finance and Network Optimization to support Lineage’s new business pursuits and a capital spend program of over $1B annually. As the design engineer for this critical business function, you will need to be highly effective at facilitating and leading cross-functional teams and building strong working relationships with functional and operating leaders at all levels., * Support new business pursuits by reviewing RFP documents, understanding objectives, developing questions to clarify gaps and creating initial hypothesis specific to a specific solution design that solves our customer’s needs & delivers unique value

  • Data validation, cleansing, profiling, baseline development & defining scenarios to model
  • Calculating labor, equipment, facility and expense requirements based on warehousing design assumptions
  • Develop and utilize pricing models to determine the overall financial effectiveness of potential capital projects and dedicated customer solutions
  • Lead internal reviews of pricing model and the construction of customer pricing
  • Support internal team with solution review presentations and design validation meetings
  • Work with operations and project team to validate that designs are implemented as planned such that the intended value and efficiency are realized by internal and external customer
  • Support and contribute to the development of improved engineering standards, methods and tools to ensure industry best practices
  • Perform work, time, and efficiency studies to ensure that labor requirements are being properly defined

Requirements

Ideal candidates possess in-depth experience in industrial engineering, supply chain management, finance, or logistics combined with strong technical skills, natural curiosity and the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment. In this role you will lead and support the development of best-in-class operating solutions in the area of warehousing design and/or supply chain operations. Solutions will include consideration of all operational elements included but not limited to cost, service requirements, operational processes, utilization of technology/IT, equipment requirements and staffing plans., * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent education and experience. Master’s Degree in related field, preferred.

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the Warehousing and/or Manufacturing industry (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Warehouse Operations) with a preference for cold storage experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Power BI or equivalent data analysis and visualization software skills a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative), including the ability to solve practical problems and analyze processes for improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information crisply and succinctly.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on, highly engaged environment and willingness to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility along with a strong work ethic and bias for action.
  • Ability to work independently, develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management operations, warehouse types, material handling solutions and automation types such as: powered industrial truck (PIT) applications; racking and other storage solution designs, packaging equipment; conveyor and sortation equipment; and other automation solutions (e.g. AS/RS).
  • Estimated travel 10-20%
