Job description

The Systems & Technology Support Specialist (Level 2) ensures seamless technology operations across all K-12 school departments. This role combines hands-on hardware and software technical support with system integration and data management. The specialist resolves end-user help requests, maintains classroom and campus technology, and supports software integration projects to maximize organizational efficiency., This list is illustrative rather than complete and shows major duties. The employee will be required to perform other duties requested by the supervisor and/or school administrator.

Technical Support & Operations

  • Provide daily help desk support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for students, parents, and staff.
  • Fix, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain all classroom desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and projectors.
  • Escalate and resolve complex end-user issues by collaborating with third-party software vendors.
  • Perform active directory password resets and follow proper technology inventory management procedures.
  • Assist with the setup of audio/visual equipment for school events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Software Integration & Data Management

  • Participate in and lead the planning, design, and deployment of software integration projects across campus.
  • Collaborate with the PowerSchool Administrator and Network Administrator to ensure seamless integration between the Student Information System (SIS) and associated programs.
  • Work with the Curriculum, Student Services, Human Resources, and Enrollment departments to help roster, develop, and manage online processes, programs, and accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance school business processes through software integration while minimizing user disruption.
  • Administer data validation routines and coordinate the reconciliation of any data anomalies.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of school systems, data compliance requirements, and educational software best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Collaboration, Training & Professional Conduct

  • Work closely with IT department members to facilitate projects, provide staff support, and create technology training materials.
  • Enforce the CCS Student Code of Conduct, the CCS Uniform Code, and the CCS Computer Usage Code.
  • Promote good citizenship through actions as a role model, adhering to professional, ethical principles.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students’ information, progress, and records.
  • Abide by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies, and current PA Public School expectations.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in technology, education, curriculum, or equivalent experience in a hardware/software support role.
  • Core Systems: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows 10/11) and Google Suite/Chrome OS. Experience with OSX and iOS is preferred.
  • Educational Software: Experience with educational/curriculum-driven software, including PowerSchool SIS, PowerSchool Registration, DocuWare, LinkIt, Follett, IEP Writer, Magnus Health, School Messenger, Clever, SchoolPass, and IXL.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of operating systems, programming languages, databases, network tools, and integration technologies.
  • Professional Skills: Service-oriented mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong decision-making, data analysis, prioritization, and attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable personality.
  • Required Clearances: Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt.
  • Compliance: Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.
