Senior Software Developer

You’ll take a senior role within a highly technical development environment, building and evolving sophisticated software across analytics, production, quality and process optimisation.

Rather than being restricted to one area of the stack, you’ll have the freedom to work across the full development life cycle.

Understanding complex problems, designing solutions, writing code, testing, deploying and seeing your work used in a real operational environment.

There’s also genuine scope to explore new technologies, prototype ideas and investigate emerging approaches to solving technical problems.

Role Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance sophisticated software using C# and .NET.
• Design, develop and optimise MS SQL databases and T-SQL.
• Work with large and complex datasets generated from production and R&D environments.
• Develop applications across advanced analytics, production, quality control and process data.
• Work with modern Front End technologies including React and JavaScript.
• Use Python where appropriate for data, analytics and technical projects.
• Contribute to architecture, design patterns, CI/CD and engineering best practice.
• Work closely with technical and operational teams to turn complex requirements into high-quality software.
• Mentor less experienced developers and contribute to the wider technical direction.
• Investigate emerging technologies and develop prototypes that could influence future products and platforms.

The Technical Challenge

• The role has a particularly interesting data and analytical dimension.
• You’ll be working alongside concepts including:
• Machine Learning Data Science Bayesian Methods Gaussian Processes Probability Statistics

• Significant commercial C#/.NET experience.
• Strong MS SQL/T-SQL development and database design skills.
• Experience building robust Back End software and business-critical applications.
• Knowledge of React, JavaScript, Python, CI/CD and software design patterns.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline.
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ideally, exposure to ML, statistics, Bayesian modelling or probabilistic methods.
