Job description
- Manage our IT infrastructure and systems
- Administer and provide technical ownership of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Intune
- Provide senior administration and technical governance of Procore
- Manage multi-site Ubiquiti / UniFi networks, including Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs and network security
- Oversee cybersecurity, MFA, Conditional Access, endpoint protection and device compliance
- Manage company laptops, mobiles, hardware and IT assets
- Manage CCTV and electronic access control through the UniFi environment
- Manage software licences, SaaS subscriptions and technology suppliers
- Manage user permissions and Joiner, Mover & Leaver processes
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Support IT infrastructure requirements for new offices and project sites
- Review IT expenditure, contracts and technology suppliers
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Copilot and AI
- Develop longer-term IT strategy alongside our Directors

Requirements
- Experienced IT professional with strong technical ability and good commercial awareness
- Comfortable working across hands-on IT support, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity and strategic technology improvement
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
- Experience with SharePoint, Teams and Intune
- Experience with Procore or similar construction/project management platforms
- Experience with Ubiquiti / UniFi
- Experience with network infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Experience with SaaS and software licence management
- Experience with Power Platform and automation
- Knowledge of Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus
- Experience working in multi-site IT environments
- Previous experience within construction, M&E, engineering or a similar project-led environment is advantageous
- Strong candidates from other sectors will also be considered
Benefits & conditions
We are a well-established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor based at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary of £52,000 to £60,000 DOE. We are a growing, multi-site business of approximately 50 employees, and this is a newly important position with the opportunity to shape and develop our internal IT function. The role is highly hands-on initially and offers significant scope to develop into Senior IT Manager or Head of IT & Digital as the business grows, potentially building an internal IT team beneath you.
