Job description

The IS Manager (ISM) for Governance and Privacy is an experienced, innovative, and passionate data leader who will play a critical role in developing and maturing data governance, privacy, security, and protection policies and procedures for the organization in leading the Data Governance and Privacy & Protection teams., * Leads and manages a high-performing agile team that is responsible for developing and maturing organization-wide data privacy, compliance, and governance policies and processes with a focus on user adoption, sustainability, and effectiveness of the program on strategic initiatives.

  • Drives team members to leverage or develop well-defined practices and processes that aid in increasing productivity and minimizing waste to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, adhering to high-quality standards, and meeting customer expectations.
  • Collaborates with business leaders, process and data owners, data stewards and other key stakeholders to support the development and implementation of policies, standards, and the framework for data governance and privacy.
  • Partners with business and delivery stakeholders to promote enforcement of data governance standards and rules and enable consumption of trusted data.
  • Develops and manages data governance products aimed to measure the effectiveness of the data governance program, including metrics that apply appropriate benchmarks to legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Collaborates with the Global Data Privacy Office and Information Security teams to classify and establish processes related to Enterprise Data Privacy Policies (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Prepares technical delivery cost & timeline estimates to ensure key roadmap initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Assists the Delivery Manager in the execution and refinement of the overall Data Management strategy, mission, and vision with respect to data privacy and governance.
  • Stays up to date on data management best practices, trainings, and certifications.

Supervisory or Management Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, development, training, evaluation, and product delivery of the individual contributors on the Data Governance and Privacy & Protection teams.
  • Identifies and remediates skills and resource gaps required for future work.
  • Acts as Coach-Leader, coaching others in their development as a leader and/or a more complex problem solver and focuses on helping others formulate their development agenda.
  • Communicates and engages with highly technical knowledge workers. Able to challenge team members’ thought processes to drive them to better solutions.
  • Establishes operational/team objectives and goals .

Budget Responsibility:

  • Significantly contributes to the development of product/service and/or departmental budgets and actively manages budget to plan.
  • Shares fiscal responsibility for the organization’s technology investments and future planning of the organization’s spend .
  • Manages monthly forecast and resolves against actual spend.
  • Plans capacity fluctuations based on delivery roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business or Information Systems; or has appropriate combination of education and/or work experience relevant to required skills and responsibilities.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of Information Technology experience
  • 3+ years of management/leadership experience in an IT organization.
  • 2+ years’ experience with data governance and/or data privacy products and processes.
  • Can demonstrate practical knowledge in any of the following disciplines/technologies and their practical application to business products and processes: data governance and stewardship, data privacy (e.g., OneTrust or equivalent), metadata management solutions (e.g., data catalog tools such as Atlan and Collibra.), etc.
  • Demonstrates leadership and ability to partner with key business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing large teams, working in an onshore / offshore collaborative environment.
  • Experience with agile (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) methodologies.

Salary Range:

  • $109,000 - $186,600
  • This position is bonus eligible
  • Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
