Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Cloud & GIS Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge enterprise applications that span AWS cloud and on-premises environments. This position involves full-stack application development, AWS cloud architecture, extensive use of ESRI/ArcGIS technologies, and implementation of modern Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices., * Analyze complex business and system requirements, translating them into scalable and efficient technical solutions.

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade applications for AWS and on-premises deployment.
  • Produce modern, full-stack web applications using .NET and Angular frameworks.
  • Develop robust geospatial functionality with ESRI/ArcGIS (including interactive mapping, geocoding, spatial analysis, and leveraging ArcGIS APIs).
  • Create and support AWS-based solutions with services such as ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Develop and maintain containerized applications leveraging Docker and AWS ECS.
  • Utilize generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to enhance code generation, debugging, documentation, and productivity.
  • Manage source code and CI/CD processes utilizing GitLab and GitLab pipelines.
  • Design and optimize both relational and NoSQL database solutions for application backends.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture and data flow diagrams.
  • Conduct application testing, debugging, and troubleshooting across distributed application environments.
  • Support production application environments and resolve performance or technical issues as needed.
  • Work closely with developers, solution architects, and business stakeholders in an Agile-driven delivery model.
  • Provide technical mentorship and direction to other development team members, ensuring successful project milestones and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in software development and/or programmer analyst roles, including delivering complex applications using structured SDLC processes.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing or maintaining applications in AWS environments.
  • Proven expertise in full-stack development using .NET and Angular frameworks.
  • Experience with key AWS services: ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Terraform for managing infrastructure as code in cloud environments.
  • Experience in deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting containerized applications using Docker and AWS ECS.
  • Strong background in ESRI/ArcGIS technologies (e.g., ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS JavaScript APIs, geocoding services, spatial analysis).
  • Experience developing interactive mapping/geolocation features within enterprise solutions.
  • Hands-on use of generative AI tools for development (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted development workflows (code generation, prompt engineering, documentation, debugging).
  • Proficient with GitLab, source control management, and CI/CD automation pipelines.
  • Skilled in designing and optimizing both relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong analytical and solution design skills, capable of transforming business requirements into technical architectures and actionable development plans.
  • Experienced in crafting thorough technical documentation (architectures, data flows, system designs).
  • Background working and collaborating in Agile settings (Scrum, Kanban) with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in providing technical guidance and ensuring the successful delivery of complex software projects.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Washington, DC., * AWS certifications.
  • Experience integrating ESRI/ArcGIS with AWS-hosted platforms and services.
  • Expertise in designing cloud-native application architectures and optimizing them for performance, reliability, and scalability within AWS.
  • Experience working across hybrid (cloud/on-premises) environments.
  • Advanced skills integrating AI-assisted tools into enterprise development workflows.
