Job description

WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:May serve as a technical team or task leader.Provides technical support to individual training and small, medium and large collective training events / exercises in accordance with the established MTC training program.Monitor and maintain the health and performance of systemsPerform regular system updates, patches, and backups.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issuesDeploy, configure and troubleshoot network devices (to include cables) for exercises, training events and/or special projectsConfigure and optimize systems to meet operational requirementsIntegrate various components and systems in an LVC environmentCollaborate with other branches to ensure system compatibility and interoperabilityImplement and manage security policies and configurationsMaintain documentation for system configurations and changesImplement and manage security policies and configurationsProvides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as

user manuals, system documentation, and training materialsPrepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnelServes as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basisProvides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced system administratorFollows DoD Directives and Instructions 8140, 8570-01-M, Army regulations AR 25-2, NIST Special Publications 800-53, 800-39Participates in special projects as required WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:Education: BA/BS in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training Required Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of related experience; Military and MTC experience preferredRequired Technical Skills:Technical expertise in systems and related technologies;Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security practices;Experienced in configuring and maintaining networking hardware/software systems to include routers, switches and firewalls;Understanding of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with SQL and NoSQL databasesRequired Skills and Abilities:Superb communication skills; strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms on systems;Ability to document and report on technical issues and solutions;Ability to resolve complex technical issuesCertification: IAT-II baseline certification IAW former DoDD 8570.01-M: Security+ CESecurity Clearance: Secret clearance required to startLocation: Onsite, Fort Bragg.
