Job description

SOSi is seeking a Data Scientist. The Data Scientist will provide data analysis services, including data graphics and dashboards, to help identify challenges and opportunities for the Sponsor’s customers. In this role the Data Scientist will leverage coding skills and proficiency in Tableau to transform unstructured data into actionable insights, supporting customer decision-making related to production, resources and personnel. Essential Job Duties

  • Assess the efficiency and accuracy of new data sources.
  • Preprocess or clean structured and unstructured Sponsor data.
  • Analyze large amounts of raw data to provide insights.
  • Create, modify, and improve statistical and/or Al/ML models.
  • Document and communicate methods and findings using Sponsor’s formats and templates, which could include authoring analytic publications in collaboration with Sponsor, producing ad-hoc reports,
  • Create data visualizations or interactives, developing applications and user Interfaces, delivering slideshow presentations or briefings, or documenting methods in Github.
  • Provide technical education to staff on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Apply expertise in data-driven analytic techniques to identify and research the use of new quantitative and qualitative methods to augment Sponsor’s existing methodological approaches to intelligence problems and communicate findings to wider audiences.
  • Brief consumers -on applications of data-driven analysis and analytic methods to specific national security problems of concern to the consumer.
  • Respond to COTR or GTM approved ad-hoc requests for tailor-made complex data-driven analysis, including preparing cables; memoranda, email, and graphics for Sponsor consumers., + Office setting with a combination of desk work and meetings.
  • Occasional remote work or telecommuting opportunities.
  • Potential travel for conferences, training, or meetings with stakeholders. Working at SOSi All interested individuals will receive consideration and will not be discriminated against for any reason.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Demonstrated professional experience with the following required tools, systems, services, and data types: o DBeaver, PostGres SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Mango and SQL to include using common table expressions, set operations, aggregated functions, and nested subqueries. o Python or R, as well as a wide range of data analysis, data processing, statistical modeling, Al/ML, and visualization programming libraries. o Working with time-series data in performing time-series analysis using Sponsor’s data or data from external sources. o Version control systems, such as Git. o Tableau to create and customize customer-facing graphics. o Cloud services from major providers, working with APls, and leveraging high-performance computing resources. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience Tableau Prep.
  • Using Splunk, including automated processes in the Sponsor’s environment.
  • Using Sponsor’s enterprise services, security controls, and data management practices.
