Job description

We are hiring a Quality Engineer (QE) with strong expertise in Cypress automation testing, AWS, and Playwright for a long-term contract opportunity with Southwest Airlines. This is a mostly remote role for candidates located in the DFW area, with occasional onsite meetings as needed. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and experience working in Agile environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-quality web applications through robust testing strategies and automation frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and Playwright Perform manual, regression, exploratory, UI, API, and integration testing Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test data Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments Analyze test results and improve overall software quality

Requirements

3+ years of QA/testing experience Strong hands-on experience with Cypress Experience with AWS and Playwright JavaScript/TypeScript experience Experience with UI, API, and integration testing Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI Agile/Scrum experience Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills:

  • Selenium or additional automation tools experience
  • REST API testing with Postman or Cypress
  • Experience with Cucumber/BDD frameworks
  • Git/version control experience
  • Knowledge of performance and security testing concepts
