Job description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Software Engineer II to support a mission-critical missile warning program in Colorado Springs. This engineer will play a key role in the sustainment and modernization of complex software systems that directly support national defense missions. Working in a highly secure environment, the team is looking for someone who can contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing applications. Day to day, this person will enhance and maintain a large Java-based codebase, perform code analysis and system improvements, support containerization efforts with Docker and Kubernetes, and help drive CI/CD pipeline enhancements. The role offers a blend of software engineering and DevOps responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy working across both application development and modern deployment practices. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and comfort operating in an evolving environment while collaborating closely with Agile teams in a 100% onsite SCIF setting.
Requirements
Active Secret Clearance
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong Java
- Hands on Docker/containerization experience
- Kubernetes experience
- Experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, or similar tools
Nice to Have Skills:
- WebLogic experience
- C ++ knowledge
- DevOps or Platform Engineering experience
