Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Security Engineer II in Irving, TX.

Key Tasks:

  • Support and maintain network security technologies and controls across enterprise and cloud environments
  • Administer and monitor security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, VPNs, network access controls, and authentication services
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining multi-factor authentication and identity security controls
  • Manage web security technologies, DNS security solutions, and content filtering systems
  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability remediation activities, and security hardening efforts
  • Investigate security threats, identify risks, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies and compensating controls
  • Participate in the development, documentation, and maintenance of security policies, standards, procedures, and workflows
  • Support network security architecture reviews and third-party risk assessments
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and application teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate security risks
  • Assist in evaluating and testing security technologies, tools, and solutions through proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support for network security incidents and operational issues
  • Contribute to projects that enhance security capabilities and support business objectives
  • Prioritize workload effectively while managing multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Share knowledge with team members and assist in mentoring less experienced staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and technical training opportunities
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and industry best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically requires 3-5+ years of experience
  • Experience working with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems, access control solutions, and authentication platforms
  • Understanding of network security concepts, protocols, and best practices
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, vulnerability management, and security hardening techniques
  • Knowledge of risk management, security assessment methodologies, and incident response processes
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
  • Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Certifications (Preferred): Industry-recognized cybersecurity or networking certifications such as Security+, Network+, CCNA, CISSP, CEH, GSEC, CISA, or equivalent

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
