Job description
Join the Wi-Fi Firmware development team and be part of an outstanding team of engineers driving innovation on products used by millions worldwide. Our team is looking for a highly motivated Wi-Fi Firmware Engineer to drive the implementation and optimization of FW/SW design for Appleâs latest products, including next generation of iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Mac and more., Be a key member of the Wi-Fi Firmware development team, where you will work on FW/SW design, integration, testing and optimization from early prototypes until productization. The work involves documenting requirements, design documentation, FW implementation, performance evaluation on SW/HW prototypes, analyzing logs, and pushing features through the build process into released SW. Engineers will be working with extended teams in the system, HW, and PHY teams to complete joint effort features.
Responsibilities:
Develop firmware code for Appleâs Wi-Fi chip sets
Design / code / integrate code in C/C++ for Wi-Fi based algorithms to implement the 802.11 protocol
Work with test teams to validate the developed features
Follow release process for pushing features from concept to release candidates
Debug issues from the field examining logs, and over the air logs
Requirements
You have a MS in electrical engineering or equivalent
You enjoy taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm
Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
Handle conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise
Minimum Qualifications
Youâre fluent in C/C++
You understand wireless communications and have networking stack exposure
You understand communication theory and can contribute to technical discussions regarding wireless systems
Youâre fluent in Git or other code source management tools
Thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while driving multiple projects across teams, Consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances
Possess a BS in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent
You are ready to use AI tools for development, testing and debugging FW

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
