Job description

Enlighten, a HII company, is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer focused on data flow. Candidate will be responsible for assisting with data engineering process, data flow, requirements, etc. Work will also involve the participation in numerous meetings customers to understand their data sets and problems. Working with the development team and other engineers will conduct System and Data Analysis of complex operational software systems to include troubleshooting, validation of upgrades, transitions and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • A current TS/SCI with a polygraph level security clearance is required and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. Any candidate with a U.S. Cyber Command clearance is a big plus., * Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline. Educational requirements may be adjusted for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs that encompass large data problems, data flow, data engineering, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation.
  • Must have Security+ certification or the willingness to obtain one quickly.
  • Proficiency with data transfer concepts over large networks to support acquisition of data.
  • Ability to decompose technical problems and troubleshoot system and dataflow or ETL issues.
  • Familiarity with various data formats such as JSON, XML, and others.
  • Experience with data flow, management, and storage solutions.
  • Prior experience working complex computer systems
  • Proficient understanding and usage of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio or competing office document technologies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to diverse audience
  • Comfortable working with customers in discussing the art of the possible in solving their needs and fulfilling the requirements derived from the circulated arts.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in Agile methods is desired
  • Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch, Accumulo, HBase, CouchDB, or other NoSQL data stores.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Experience with data flow, management, and storage solutions such as Kafka, NiFi, and AWS S3 and SQS solutions or other competing cloud technologies.
