Job description

Senior Software Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC’s client to work onsite in Tewksbury, MA.

MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE

Our customer has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer to support the development of complex software solutions across multiple programs and platforms. This position will contribute throughout the full software development life cycle and may support real-time embedded software, application software, test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and other software engineering efforts.

The ideal candidate will have strong professional software development experience with C++, C, and/or Java and the ability to develop practical solutions to complex technical challenges within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the requirements, design, development, integration, and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and software tools.

  • Develop new software products and enhance existing applications, systems, and software solutions.

  • Design, code, test, integrate, troubleshoot, and document software solutions.

  • Participate in technical reviews, software design reviews, and other engineering reviews throughout the software development life cycle.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, systems engineers, and other engineering professionals to develop and implement technical solutions.

  • Support software development efforts across multiple programs, products, and software platforms.

  • Follow established software development practices, engineering processes, configuration management standards, and quality requirements.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and system-level technical issues.

  • Support software testing, verification, integration, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation associated with software designs, development activities, testing, and implementation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional software engineering experience.

  • Professional software development experience with C++, C, and/or Java.

  • Active Secret security clearance required prior to start.

  • U.S. citizenship required due to security clearance requirements.

  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

  • Experience participating in multiple phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and documentation.

  • Strong software troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

  • Experience with systems software design, operating systems, and software architectures.

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle processes and methodologies.

  • Experience developing software in Windows and Linux environments.

  • Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, Perl, Bash, and/or KornShell.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and test automation.

  • Experience developing technical and software documentation.

  • Experience supporting real-time embedded software development.

  • Experience with software integration, verification, and system-level testing.

  • Ability to learn and implement new technologies, software development tools, and engineering processes.

  • Previous experience supporting aerospace, defense, embedded systems, or other complex technical environments.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Employment Prerequisites

The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis.

Estimated Min Rate: $57.40/hour

Estimated Max Rate: $82.00/hour
