Job description
SAIC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer onsite in Colorado Springs, CO to join the Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Cyber Test Team. The PNT SE&I Cyber Test Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, assessment, and subject matter expertise (SME) to the United States Space Force. Members contribute a technical cybersecurity perspective for the identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans and strive to institutionalize cybersecurity engineering best practices as per DoDI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-115 across the PNT Enterprise and beyond. As a member of the PNT SE&I Cyber Test Team, you will work in a fast-paced environment alongside Space Force personnel and system developers helping to ensure the Global Positioning System (GPS) remains the gold standard for positioning, navigation, and timing., * Planning and execution of cyber security assessments utilizing DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, DISA SCAP, and other tools
- Planning and execution of penetration testing events on development and sustainment systems, identifying system vulnerabilities, and conducting mitigation and risk analysis
- Contributing to the development, implementation, and optimization of processes and procedures for conducting cybersecurity vulnerability and penetration assessments, to include automation, tool research, development, and training
- Supporting cross-mission cybersecurity activities, to include space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements of the customer base by providing a technical view of risks, issues, and interdependencies between system elements.
- Developing and briefing cybersecurity-related information and reports that provide analysis results to decision-makers
- Collaborating on a regular basis with team, subcontractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or Cybersecurity with 0+ years of experience
- Possesses or ability to obtain within 3 months a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
- Possesses or ability to obtain within 6 months a penetration testing certification (CompTIA CEH or equivalent)
- Understanding of risk analysis and mitigation fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability in the creation and delivery of technical documents, briefings, and reports to peers, management, and the customer at all levels
- Self-driven in seeking solutions, amicable to team-oriented efforts
- Adaptability to shifting project schedules and requirements
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Linux (RedHat, Oracle), Windows (10, Server 2012+) and/or Network operations fundamentals.
- Ability to identify and present risk countermeasure options / alternatives to peers and customers
- Experience with Confluence and Jira collaboration and project tracking tools
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Benefits & conditions
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
