Job description

This position requires an Avionics System Engineer to use their technical, program, and systems expertise to support the U-2 Program. Preferred candidate will have experience with Avionics specification and integration onto one or more platforms. Candidate will work across all development and sustainment lifecycle stages including requirements development, avionics system design, system integration, avionics unit laboratory checkout, flight testing, and remotely supporting field service personnel with troubleshooting when needed.

Candidate duties will include Avionics identification, functionality assessment, compatibility, source selection and platform integration. Candidate will support Subcontractor management as part of this position. The candidate will be expected to work with suppliers to develop and incorporate a cost effective solution to requirements. Occasional travel to suppliers and customer location may be required.

Candidate will apply appropriate System Engineering Processes through all phases of a project.

Candidate will identify technical and schedule risks, maintain a technical baseline, support the defining and managing trade studies, support configuration management, support technical planning and strategy processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • Avionics specifications definition, integration and troubleshooting experience on one or more platforms

Desired Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated writing skills (specifications, reports, etc)
  • Knowledge of Mil-Std-1553 interface
  • Knowledge of/experience with Avionics processors
  • Knowledge of Avionics Controls and Displays
  • Knowledge of/experience with Ethernet interface (Copper and Fiber)
  • Subcontract management (Statement of Work preparation, design reviews, risks definition and tracking)

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
