Job description
Our client, a large public-sector organization in the Metro Atlanta area, is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead enterprise technology initiatives across SAP/ERP systems and IT infrastructure environments.
This role will manage complex projects spanning SAP initiatives and infrastructure programs including network, server, and enterprise platform upgrades. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project delivery through the full lifecycle, and ensure successful implementation of technology solutions across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience leading both ERP/SAP initiatives and enterprise infrastructure projects in large, complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle delivery of enterprise IT projects including planning, design, build, testing, implementation, and rollout.
Manage SAP and ERP-related initiatives including implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
Oversee infrastructure initiatives such as network upgrades, data center initiatives, wireless upgrades, and server or platform implementations.
Develop project plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource plans to ensure successful delivery.
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, SAP teams, and project leadership.
Ensure project alignment with PMO standards, project lifecycle methodology, and governance requirements.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain delivery timelines and project quality.
Coordinate multiple technical teams and vendors across infrastructure and application workstreams.
Provide regular project status reporting, stakeholder updates, and executive communication.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure projects
- 3+ years of experience managing complex IT initiatives as a Project Manager
- Experience managing SAP or ERP-related projects (implementations, upgrades, integrations, or enhancements)
- Experience managing infrastructure initiatives including network upgrades, server environments, cloud platforms, or data center initiatives
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure environments (network, server, storage, enterprise systems)
- Experience working within formal PMO governance and project lifecycle frameworks
- Strong risk management, issue management, and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams and enterprise stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting tools
Preferred Skills
- PMP certification
- Infrastructure-related certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, or similar
- Experience managing enterprise ERP programs or large infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Experience working in large public-sector or education environments
