Job description

The client is seeking a highly experienced GCP Cloud/Data Architect to provide technical leadership, validate architecture designs, and guide the overall migration strategy. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on architect with deep expertise in GCP data services, cloud migrations, and enterprise-scale data platform modernization.

This role will initially focus on assessing the viability of the client’s current GCP architecture. If additional support is required, the consultant will lead architectural efforts and provide hands-on guidance throughout implementation.

Rate: $100.00 to $120.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and validate the client’s cloud and data architecture strategy for GCP.

  • Design and implement scalable data lake and data warehouse solutions within GCP.

  • Lead the migration of data platforms and analytical workloads from AWS to GCP.

  • Develop strategies for decommissioning Snowflake on AWS and transitioning to a GCP-based data ecosystem.

  • Architect data ingestion, integration, ETL/ELT, and analytics solutions across multiple source systems.

  • Establish cloud architecture standards, governance, security controls, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define roadmap, priorities, and migration strategies.

  • Identify performance, scalability, and cost optimization opportunities.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal teams with limited GCP experience.

  • Serve as the primary GCP subject matter expert driving the initiative from planning through execution.
