The Transversal Team builds and maintains the platforms, services, and shared libraries used by
our DevOps teams. We provide dedicated support to enable teams to adopt, master, and evolve
our platform across Azure and on-premise container environments.
Your Role
As a Senior Technical Lead, you design and deliver end-to-end solutions impacting multiple
transversal domains. You combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and coaching
skills, handling multiple projects of varying size and complexity. You have a broad transversal
view of our architecture and play a key role in shaping the future of our technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
-
Design, develop, test, and deliver complex cross-domain solutions end-to-end
-
Master and oversee the complete technology stack
-
Evolve system architecture to meet future requirements and define SLAs
-
Proactively identify and prevent problems through monitoring (performance, security, resource
usage)
-
Reduce complexity in systems, services, and processes to maximize efficiency
-
Ensure compliance with engineering standards and best practices (performance, security,
scalability, reusability, sustainability, DevSecOps)
- Research emerging technology trends, identify opportunities, and share insights across the
organization
-
Advise business stakeholders on technical feasibility of new ideas
-
Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer are in place
Collaboration & Communication
- Work in a complex, stakeholder-rich environment and communicate effectively with both
technical and non-technical audiences
- Identify key risks, manage dependencies, and support incident handling (including on-call duty
when required)
- Act as Technical Lead on transversal projects and as an ambassador for the technology
department
People Leadership & Coaching
- Functionally lead team members by coordinating work, moderating discussions, and providing
actionable feedback
-
Act as a servant leader and coach, supporting the growth of associates and (senior) engineers
-
Assign work, set priorities, and continuously improve team processes based on feedback
Requirements
-
Proven track record of strong technical and people leadership
-
Excellent judgment across architecture, infrastructure, security, and performance decisions
-
Strategic mindset with awareness of organizational priorities
-
Continuous learner with a growth mindset: curious, creative, innovative, and analytical
-
Strong conceptual thinker and problem solver
-
Ability to influence and impact the wider technology organization
Technical Skills
-
Strong hands-on knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
-
Experience with container technologies, in particular Docker and Kubernetes
-
Good understanding of Git concepts and version control practices
-
Experience with Kibana is a plus
-
Experience with Azure Cloud is a strong plus
-
Cloud mindset and ability to work across cloud and on-premise environments
-
Experience creating, validating, getting approval for, and implementing POCs and MVPs
-
Ability to translate technical concepts and POCs into scalable, production-ready solutions
Mainframe Knowledge
As part of the role, you will work in an environment where Mainframe technology remains an
important component of the platform and the MVP. Deep Mainframe expertise is not required,
but a solid general understanding is important to ensure smooth communication and
collaboration with the relevant teams.
- Z/OS & Z/CX: Basic to medior-level knowledge is sufficient, given the current state of the
project.
- CICS: CICS is an older technology but remains a key pillar of the MVP. Junior-level knowledge is
sufficient to understand the concepts and communicate effectively with the teams involved.
- General Mainframe understanding: You should understand the high-level concepts and way of
working within a Mainframe environment. For example, you should know what an LPAR is and
understand its purpose at a conceptual level.
- Java in a Mainframe context: Understanding of how Java is used within a Mainframe
environment and familiarity with the relevant technical context is a strong asset.
- Communication & knowledge sharing: You should be comfortable discussing Mainframe-
related topics with technical teams and be able to bridge the gap between Mainframe and
modern platform technologies.
- Experience collaborating with Kyndryl is a plus.
The ability and willingness to build further knowledge in Mainframe technologies is more
important than having deep hands-on expertise from day one.
