Business Area: Asset Management PlatformLocation: LondonReporting to: Client Technology Delivery LeadJob title: Principal Salesforce EngineerWho we’re looking forWe are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Engineer with a proven track record of designing, building, and delivering robust, scalable, and secure solutions on the Salesforce platform. The ideal candidate combines deep technical craftsmanship with high engineering standards, an eye for detail, and a continuous improvement mindset. A strong understanding of the financial services industry is essential. The candidate should be able to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions, uphold best-practice engineering and DevOps disciplines, and champion innovation. They should be comfortable leading technical design and development from pre-programme mobilisation through to production support, mentoring other engineers along the way.About usOur client is a global investment manager, helping institutions, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and declarative configuration.Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I as a minimum; Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or System/Technical Architect certifications are highly desirable.Strong integration experience using REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, and middleware such as MuleSoft to connect Salesforce with the wider technology estate.Proven experience of DevOps and CI/CD tooling (e.g. Git, Copado, Gearset, Azure DevOps), automated testing, and release management on the Salesforce platform.Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modelling, security, governor limits, and platform best practices, with the ability to take a holistic view of the target state across technology, data, and operating model.Good eye for detail and hands-on experience of producing technical designs, specifications, and high-quality, well-tested code.Broad engineering experience across a number of different capabilities, systems, and teams; a number of different (positive) experiences is valued higher than length of experience.Strong knowledge and experience of the end-to-end SDLC (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid etc.) and modern engineering disciplines.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and influence at all levels.Experience of working with global colleagues and stakeholders and sensitivity to cultural differences, time zones etc.What you’ll be likeThe ideal candidate for the Principal Salesforce Engineer role will be a pragmatic and collaborative technical leader who takes pride in engineering craftsmanship and delivering business value.
