Journeyman Network and Computer Systems Administrator

The Journeyman System and Server Administrator supports day-to-day administration, sustainment, and security of Linux and Windows server and client environments. This role focuses on executing established procedures, responding to operational needs, and supporting compliance and patching activities., * Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems

• Support containerized environments using tools such as Podman or Docker
• Perform system sustainment, patching, and vulnerability remediation
• Support cybersecurity and compliance requirements in accordance with established policies
• Administer Microsoft Server (2016 or later) and Windows 10/11 client systems
• Perform client administration, including imaging and provisioning
• Assist with Windows and Linux patching cycles
• Utilize Bash scripting (Linux) and PowerShell (Windows) for basic automation and task execution
• Support Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems
• Apply foundational network services knowledge to help troubleshoot high-volume data transmission issues
• Other duties as assigned or required

• 3-6 years of system and server administration experience
• Hands-on experience with RHEL and Windows server/client environments
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, patching, and compliance
• Basic scripting/automation experience (Bash and PowerShell)
• Familiarity with enterprise storage and networking concepts

Education:

• Associate’s Degree plus 4 years’ additional work experience OR 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS degree.

Security Clearance:

• Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
