Software Engineer I

Submit your resume today and let the journey begin. Responsibilities Gather, document, understand, and articulate functional, non-functional and business requirements that are already defined. Design and develop software applications and related components both independently and as part of a team. Perform unit, regression, and integration testing for application changes to ensure high quality. Track and monitor production systems for issue identification and prevention across multiple environments and operating platforms. Research and troubleshoot issues across different functional teams to rectify system problems in a timely manner. Communicate status updates with team members and leaders to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Become familiar with Alfa’s interconnected technology framework and systems to understand impact of software changes.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related area of study related to Computer Science or Mathematics is required. Two years of programming experience preferred. Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft or Workday preferred. Competent communication skills, including clear and timely communication on business issues and assignments with peers, management, and product owners. Ability to quickly learn and comprehend insurance-related topics and relate that knowledge to the development process.
