Job description

We’re looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to build across Cloaked’s product suite. You’ll move fast, ship UI-heavy features, and serve as a mobile technical authority on the team. This role spans our platform - identity, protection and monitoring, and the products we’re building on top of them - so you’ll have unusual breadth for a single engineer and real influence over how we build on mobile at scale.

What will you do?

  • Design, architect, and build privacy-first mobile applications
  • Build and iterate rapidly on product surfaces across the Cloaked suite to support experimentation and product-market fit
  • Provide senior technical leadership on application architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices
  • Help the team ship features faster and with fewer bugs by raising the overall engineering bar
  • Collaborate with design, backend, and product teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Implement new functionality and APIs, including REST and GraphQL integrations
  • Build and maintain performant, declarative UIs using SwiftUI
  • Apply Swift structured concurrency to write readable, maintainable business logic
  • Integrate offline-first data storage solutions such as Core Data
  • Develop and maintain iOS extensions and Safari extensions
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues across platforms
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best practices and architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
  • Conduct unit testing, including BDD/TDD, covering edge cases and ensuring overall application reliability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions
  • Actively leverage AI tools in day-to-day engineering work
  • Own mobile domain expertise in the areas you go deep on, and share it across teams, We offer flexible work arrangements and the ability to work remotely as needed. Cloaked provides a home office stipend in addition to a new company laptop (and other tech depending on the role).

Perks

Competitive PTO: We encourage employees to take a minimum # of vacation per quarter. We see PTO as a preventative burnout measure and are committed to changing the industry standard.

Monthly health stipend: Used for any kind of physical, mental or emotional care you’d like to take for yourself, be it a gym membership, a meditation app, or time with a personal trainer.

Late Night Meals: We understand that sometimes work can get in the way of meal prep. In response to that, we offer employees a monthly meal stipend to be used when they don’t have time to get a home cooked meal going!

Professional Growth: Opportunities for career development and personal growth are provided to all employees who seek to further their knowledge and capabilities through an unlimited professional development fund. Additionally team members are encouraged to regularly attend conferences and industry events.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Swift
  • Hands-on experience with SwiftUI, Combine, and structured concurrency
  • Deep knowledge of mobile databases: Core Data, Realm, SQL
  • Strong understanding of backend API integration (RESTful)
  • Familiarity with iOS architecture patterns (MVVM, state observation, data flow)
  • Experience with iOS Extension and Safari Extension development
  • Solid understanding of cryptographic principles: symmetric and asymmetric encryption
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices
  • Track record shipping B2C consumer products at scale
  • Active daily use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, Codex) with strong prompt judgment and tool selection instincts

What’s nice to have?

  • Experience with client-side payment systems
  • PII handling and sensitive data awareness
  • Prior exposure to mobile fintech and privacy/security-focused applications
  • Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, and GraphQL

What do we like?

  • Passion for security, privacy, and internet ethics
  • Curiosity and constant learning in leading-edge mobile technologies
  • Strong analytical thinking with proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Ownership mentality
  • Effective team player in high-velocity environments
  • Comfortable mentoring and knowledge sharing across teams
  • Experience in startups or growth-stage companies
  • Interest in data tracking, analytics, and product instrumentation
