Solutions Engineer - Americas NEMs and Labs Team

The candidate is responsible for supporting sales growth by working closely with the Americas NEM and Lab team in support of EXFO’s high speed test solutions. Location preference is for the Western region of the United States, but will consider other locations based on strength of candidate. The market that you will be supporting will include network equipment manufacturers, high speed transmission component manufacturers, hyperscale labs, and university research centers. The ideal candidate must have solid knowledge in High-Speed transmission testing, including switches, transceivers, CPO, and NPO technology.

What You’ll Do

• Represent EXFO as a high-speed transmission technology expert onsite and at industry events.
• Provide pre-sales support to the NEM and Lab customer base. This will include, but not be limited to, online or onsite demonstrations, presentations, evaluation support, and technical reviews of our products.
• Provide support presence at trade shows, conferences, and customer demonstrations focusing on technical product applications.
• Participate in field evaluations to ensure customers are properly trained and tutored on EXFO testing solutions.
• Work closely with the Business Unit and Marketing to ensure the most up to date product information is being delivered to the market.
• Provide direct feedback to the Business Unit regarding competitive information and new feature requests received from the field.

• Well versed in communications technologies, including high speed transceivers, CPO, and NPO.
• The candidate should have familiarity with testing and characterization of optical and high speed components with tools such as bit-error rate test equipment, optical and electrical scopes, and test tools to verify transmission of protocols such as Ethernet, OTN, Fibre Channel, and more.
• Experience with optical layer testing (OSA, OTDR, VOA, etc) is a plus.

• Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship building skills.

Must Have Pertinent experience: Minimum three years’ experience with high speed communications test equipment or equivalent

Language requirements:English written and verbal.

Education: Degree in Telecommunications, Optics, Engineering, or equivalent

Ability to Travel: Approximately 25%-50% travel required.
