Job description

An expanding Defence client of ours is currently in the market for a Systems Engineer to support a variety of UK-based customers with the next of Voice Communication solutions within the Defence domain.

Requirements

  • Engineering Delivery within a mission-critical or military domain, or a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems, Electronics or Communications Engineering. (Essential) \n

  • Recent experience of server and workstation build and configuration in a Linux environment. (Essential) \n

  • Familiarity with system installation tasks, including relevant electrical, electronics and mechanical engineering skills. \n

  • Defence/MOD domain experience, including a working knowledge of Defence standards (Def-Stans, JSPs, SCIDA etc.) \n

  • Solid Project delivery experience within a fast-moving working environment., * Practical Cisco networking experience, including basic knowledge of the Cisco IOS command line interface.

  • Collaboration on design, implementation and delivery with a wide range of internal and external stake holders. \n

  • Communicating with customers about technical issues \n

  • System/Software troubleshooting and fault diagnosis/resolution - working with development teams to identify and resolve system issues. \n

  • Inspecting and accepting products from sub suppliers and partners prior to implementation. \n

  • Close coordination of tasks with local and international teams. \n

  • Creating work instructions/work plans for use by projects \n

  • Assisting with technical responses when there is a bid in progress. \n

  • Assisting with technical training and user configuration training, sharing knowledge of the solution with the customer enabling them to fulfil the potential of the solution. \n
