Job description
I’m working with an established organisation in the Cincinnati area looking to hire a hands-on Business Central Developer / ERP Administrator to take ownership of its internal Microsoft Dynamics environment.
This is a broad technical position combining AL development, Business Central administration, integrations, troubleshooting, reporting and user support. You’ll become a key internal resource for BC while working closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, external developers and third-party vendors.
This is not a pure development position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable writing AL code but equally happy investigating user issues, managing integrations and improving how Business Central supports the wider business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Business Central customisations and extensions using AL
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot the Business Central environment
- Manage users, roles, permissions and system configuration
- Develop solutions for new business requirements and process improvements
- Support APIs and integrations between BC and external applications
- Troubleshoot integration failures and data flow issues
- Support Dynamics 365 CRM, e-commerce and EDI integrations
- Coordinate upgrades, releases, testing and system changes
- Develop and maintain reporting using Power BI, Power Query, Excel and Jet Reports
- Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for Business Central users
- Work with departments to understand requirements and translate them into practical system solutions
- Create documentation and deliver end-user training
- Work with external developers and vendors on larger technical projects, * Dynamics 365 CRM
- Power BI / Power Query
- Power Automate
- SQL
- Jet Reports
- EDI
- E-commerce integrations
- Business Central upgrades and migrations
- Finance, Operations, Inventory or Sales processes
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more ownership than a traditional Developer or Consultant position.
Rather than moving between client projects, you’ll have the opportunity to own and develop an internal Business Central environment, understand the business in depth and see the long-term impact of the solutions you build.
The role offers exposure across Business Central, development, integrations, reporting, CRM, e-commerce and automation, with plenty of scope to improve and expand the existing environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience
- Hands-on AL development experience
- Strong understanding of Business Central configuration and administration
- Experience troubleshooting Business Central and supporting end users
- Experience with integrations, APIs and data exchange
- Comfortable working across both technical and functional requirements
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution
- Able to work onsite in Cincinnati
