Invenergy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geospatial Analyst to join our collaborative E ngineering & GIS tea m. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals eager to grow their technical skills while learning how geospatial data drives decisions across energy project lifecycles.
As a Geospatial Analyst, you wil l gain valuable experience supporting projects that power homes and businesses . You will learn not only technical GIS workflows but also how those workflows fit into the broader development process-giving you insight into multiple aspects of the energy business. This role is an excellent foundation for advancing into a specialist, developer, or project-focused roles while making a meaningful impact as you learn how energy infrastructure projects are built.
As a Geospatial Analyst, you will be part of a team that supports multiple departments-Development, Engineering, Environmental, and Land-ensuring geospatial data and mapping are accurate , accessible, and useful. You’ll gain exposure to many aspects of the business process, from project siting and permitting to construction and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborative Mapping & Data Support
- Work closely with GIS Analysts and Developers to deliv er high-quality maps , data, and interactive, online products .
- Partner with Development and Engineering teams to meet project needs and deadlines.
- Incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders to refine deliverables.
Project & Workflow Support
- Assist with map requests, spatial data integration, and basic analyses.
- Support project intake by organizing surveys , parcels , and environmental datasets.
- Learn how geospatial workflows contribute to siting, land acquisition, permitting, and design.
Data Management & Learning
- Maintain centralized GIS databases with attention to standards and version control.
- Learn project geospatial data needs and support holistic data management for project data.
- Follow established practices for metadata and file management.
- Learn au tomation and efficiency practices to streamline repetitive tasks.
Team Contribution & Growth
- Participate actively in team meetings, knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving sessions.
- Build an understanding of how GIS connects across departments and contributes to business decisions.
- Actively learn how the GIS team operates and contribute to ongoing improvements.
- Take advantage of opportunities for skill development in GIS software, scripting, and renewable energy workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Proficiency with ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online / ArcGIS E nterprise ).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team.
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future., * Internship or academic experience applying GIS in real-world projects.
- Familiarity with renewable energy, environmental datasets, or land records.
- Exposure to automation tools (Python, SQL) or interest in learning them.
- Exposure to raster analysis and image interpretation and processing
Benefits & conditions
$65,000.00 - 79,000.00 USD Annual Bonus: 15%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education and skills.
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance. Your recruiter can share more about bonus eligibility for this position during the hiring process.
