Application Architect

• Huntington Bank is seeking an Enterprise Payments Solution Architect focused on the Wires product to define and govern end to end technology solutions that support strategic business initiatives. This role is responsible for translating business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable solution designs aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards and best practices.
• The Solution Architect partners closely with business leaders, product teams, engineering, infrastructure, and other architects to ensure solutions support long term business objectives, operational stability, and technology modernization. This role operates at the initiative or program level and provides architectural leadership across multiple applications and platforms., * Solution Architecture & Design
• Define solution approaches and high level architecture designs aligned to enterprise standards and target state strategies
• Translate business requirements into end to end technical solutions across applications, platforms, integrations, and data flows
• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including scalability, resiliency, performance, security, and maintainability
• Architecture Governance
• Present and defend solution designs through architecture review and approval forums
• Ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture standards, patterns, and governance processes
• Identify architectural risks, constraints, and technical debt, recommending paths to remediation
• Delivery Partnership
• Partner with product owners, engineering teams, infrastructure, vendors, and SMEs to guide architecture decisions throughout delivery
• Review detailed designs to ensure alignment with approved solution architecture
• Support delivery teams by resolving cross domain and cross platform design challenges
• Roadmaps & Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to and maintain solution and domain roadmaps, supporting evolution from current to future state
• Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns for applicability to enterprise solutions
• Promote reuse of standards, patterns, and best practices across initiatives

• Understanding of Wires a must
• ACI MTS experience is a plus
• Experience with Solutioning an initiative for the whole effort, not just Wires
• Understanding of the different interfaces in and out that are impacted
• Lead meetings with other IT groups along with Business and Operations
• Not afraid to take charge
• Fast paced environment, need to be able to multi-task, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience across multiple IT disciplines, including experience in at least two of the following:
• Solution or application architecture
• Application development
• Middleware or integration technologies
• Database management or operations
• Infrastructure or platform technologies
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments, * Experience supporting financial services or regulated environments
• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns (APIs, event driven, batch, messaging)
• Working knowledge with Wires application
• Experience collaborating across business, product, and engineering teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions to technical and non technical audiences
