SAP Data Migration Lead Carve-Out

We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead for a business carve-out project. In this role, you will be responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading both active/open transactions and historical/closed-status records into the target SAP or other designated environment., Carve-Out Data Strategy:

• Define and execute the end-to-end data migration scope and strategy to isolate, extract, transform, and reload specific company code data, including both open items and historical/closed records.
• Establish appropriate migration approaches to ensure data integrity throughout the carve-out process.

Closed-Status Data Loading Strategy:

• Design specific migration approaches to successfully load historical and closed-status data into the target system without compromising accounting integrity or triggering standard system workflow validations.
• Ensure historical data is migrated accurately while maintaining the required financial and operational relationships.

Cross-Module Guidance:

• Provide guidance and support to functional and technical team members to map, validate, and obtain sign-off on data structures across FI, CO, and PS.
• Support the analysis of core data dependencies and integrations across SD and MM.

Data Quality:

• Oversee complex data-filtering rules to ensure that only data belonging to the carved-out entity is migrated.
• Manage data cleansing, transformation, and enrichment rules using ETL tools or custom migration routines.
• Ensure migrated data meets defined quality, completeness, and business requirements.

Data Validation & Reconciliation:

• Establish a rigorous data validation and reconciliation framework to ensure that migrated open items, historical balances, and closed project financials reconcile accurately with the legacy system.
• Support reconciliation activities required for financial controls, audit compliance, and business sign-off.

The ideal candidate will possess deep structural knowledge of SAP FI, CO, and PS and be able to confidently guide business and functional teams through SD and MM data dependencies during a carve-out project., * 5+ years of experience in SAP Data Migration, with proven experience leading data migration tracks for SAP carve-outs or company code splits.

• Closed Historical Data: Demonstrated experience successfully migrating historical data into a live SAP or other target environment, including the migration of open items.
• Core SAP Module Expertise: Deep understanding of data structures and tables within:
• SAP FI: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR)
• SAP CO: Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA)
• SAP PS: WBS elements, project structures, and historical cost allocations
• Cross-Module Familiarity: Ability to guide functional and technical teams through master and transactional data objects in Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM) as they relate to financial and project data.
• Migration Toolsets: Proficiency with SAP LSMW or specialized SAP carve-out/data migration tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SQL or ABAP programming skills to review or optimize custom extraction logic, migration routines, and data transformation scripts.
• Experience using automated data reconciliation tools to accelerate business validation and sign-off.
