Job description

  • Responsible for organizing, monitoring, database creation, incident management, monitoring, tuning, access provisioning, Backup & Restore and database migrations into a hybrid server environment.
  • Pro-actively execute and schedule on-going maintenance, performance tuning, and capacity planning for all Database environments.
  • Consult with management team on project plans/schedules for resources and database related projects and efforts.
  • Implement regular and ad-hoc database platform upgrades and patch management for all database servers and supporting tools.
  • Provide input in the planning of organization database platform including all supporting tools in the database ecosystem.
  • Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems/concerns associated with database server software.
  • Work with Data Services team to establish security standards and how database server environments will be accessed and protected.
  • Serve as point of escalation for performance tuning and potential service level issues for database environments both proactively and when problems occur.
  • Collaborate with Data Services team to define and design for logical & physical database architecture and roadmap, which may require interviewing users and understanding their data usage requirements and needs.
  • Collaborate with IT Compute, Network teams to perform capacity management and planning in collaboration with development personnel, system administrators and system architects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with I.S. & service providers, including knowledge of best practices, documentation preparation, policies and technical details.

  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • 5-7 years of prior relevant experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong SQL and stored procedure development skills
  • Exposure to SSIS, SSRS and PowerBi
  • Exposure to Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence
  • ORACLE Database administration
  • IBM DB2 Database administration
  • PostgreSQL and MySQL exposure
  • Knowledge of current storage concepts
  • Knowledge and understanding of SQL Server, Oracle & DB2 configuration standards.
  • Understanding of Data Replication
  • Demonstrate leadership quality in collaboration and problem resolution
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to take leadership of issues and drive them to closure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they occur
  • Strong desire to learn and take on additional responsibilities
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent projects
  • Exposure .NET application development

Database Administrator

The pay range for this position is listed below. Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

Pay Range: $53.94 - $86.30
